Maha Kirtan for Kids: Schedule

Posted On: Sun, 2009-08-30 09:16 by sitapatiShare

Last night a team of us had a meeting and hashed out a schedule for the Maha Kirtan for Kids program.

The Maha Kirtan for Kids program runs in parallel to the Maha Kirtan 2 program on Sunday September 13th.

The vision for this program is simple — "The Best Day Ever". Kids go away from the day saying: "That was the best day ever!"

We want the kids to have focused participation in the kirtan program in small doses, and to be supervised, engaged, entertained, and educated at all other times during the program. We want them to have a positive experience of the day. We want their parents to be able to participate in the kirtan program. We want both the kids and the adults to think back on Maha Kirtan programs as the best day ever.

Here's the schedule that we are working with:

  • Three 2 hours segments, with two supervisors present during each segment, and parents pulling one hour stints as helpers.
  • We're investigating a helium balloon machine and a jumping castle. If we get one of these we'll cycle small groups of kids through it throughout the day
