Location: West End
Devotees in attendance: 6
Flyers distributed: 0

I made the flyers (with the help of Bhakti Candrika dd for the graphic design), but couldn't get them printed out! So we went out without them and chanted for 45 minutes down either side of Boundary Rd.

Location: Fortitude Valley
Devotees in attendance: 5
Flyers distributed: 120

This week we had flyers. People were sooo glad to see us. The look on the face of some people was exactly as Yadavendra Prabhu wrote to me: "Often people ask me where is the Hare Krishna chanting party? We do not see them any more."

People were coming out of their shops and clapping and dancing and literally saying: "Oh my god, the Hare Krishnas! Where have you been?"

Saturday November 3rd 2007

Location: Annerley, Stones Corner
Devotees in attendance: 10
Flyers distributed: 105

This week we did two suburbs. In Annerley we travelled through residential streets. Harinam does not have to be restricted to commercial spaces. In fact, we should travel everywhere to share the Holy Name with people.

Can you remember in your childhood the sound of the Mr Whipee ice cream truck travelling through your neighbourhood? We should give people the childhood memory of a Hare Krishna chanting party in their neighbourhood. Why not? It's a beautiful thing.

In Stones Corner there was a concentration of people. The people who appeared the most happy to see us were the shopkeepers. The shoppers were in anxiety about purchasing, and the shopkeepers were bored and happy for the diversion I think.

Again I saw people thinking and saying: "Oh my god, it's the Hare Krishnas!"

Here are a couple of videos. I'll have a word with the camera operator and we'll try to get more representative ones in future. This week the only ones with complete mantras were taken at the end of the strip, where you don't get to see any people interacting with the chanting party.

Param vijayate sri krishna sankirtanam!
