Sankirtan, the congregational chanting of the Holy Names of the Lord, is a timeless activity. It is recommended by all religions, and is especially mentioned in Vedic scriptures as the most powerful spiritual practice in the present age. It replaces all other forms of sacrifice, and supersedes all other forms of meditation.
Currently the planet is in deepening ecological, environmental, and social crisis. Intelligent people can see that we must address the root causes, rather than make a few adjustments to some of the symptoms.
The root cause of our problem is that we have individually and collectively forgotten that pleasing the Supreme Personality of Godhead is the primary goal of life. Once this is forgotten life becomes an out of control experience of unsatisfied desires and increasing consumption of resources.
While people remain disconnected from the Supreme, they are unable to fix the increasing problems that we are facing.
People all over the world must take seriously to glorifying the Holy Names of the Lord, and in this way solve all the problems of life at their most fundamental level.
As devotees of the Lord our function is to demonstrate this and teach it to others. Only by this process can the world be saved. There is no other way, no other way, no other way.
