Atma's Side Effect Energy

Posted On: Mon, 2008-06-09 15:08 by sitapati

In our strategic planning for Atma over the next three years I noticed that we will have spent half a million dollars in rent over six years. That's a huge outlay. The money that is generated and spent is a side effect of our main activity, which is sharing our spirituality and lifestyle knowledge with others. Atma is a state audited incorporated not-for-profit association. However, we need to be responsible stewards of even the side effects. That's Krishna's energy that we are leaking there.

Also, it makes no sense to continually start from scratch with each new place that we get. Here are some preliminary thoughts on how we are going to approach this:

Enjoy an ecstatic Mangal-arati from the comfort of your bed!

Now you can enjoy an ecstatic mangalarati from the comfort of your very own bed! Spiritual purification without austerity thanks to modern technology! :-)

Thanks to Deva Gaura Hari prabhu, live streaming audio and pictures from ISKCON's Brisbane temple are available at: live.iskcon.org.au.

On Sunday morning I watched Prem Vilas' class via the internet. I saw him at lunch time and told him that I caught his class (apparently 8 people were watching via the internet). Prem Vilas told me that on Saturday they were sitting around in the temple at 5 pm trying to decide who would lead the first bhajan, when Janardana received an SMS from Rohan saying: "Stop talking and start chanting!"

This morning Madan Gopal told me that they are going to turn the feed on during the class and kirtans, and leave it off at other times, as some people feel intimidated by it, and would like to visit the temple room in "privacy".

Remember, even if the web cameras are turned off (and there's always one somewhere in Kali yuga) 33 million demigods are watching you all the time. Every moment is a Youtube moment. Be on your best behaviour. :-)

Video podcast: "Varnashrama is tribal"

Posted On: Mon, 2008-03-31 00:46 by sitapati

I've been re-reading a booklet I wrote in Dec 2000, called "Varnashrama-dharma Implementation Manifesto". The electronic copy was lost in Peru along with my laptop and the Harinam Sankirtan Yajna book, which has since been resurrected.

This podcast is a few thoughts on the subject. I'll post excerpts from the booklet, and some more podcasts of thoughts on the matter.

Balabhadra Prabhu on 16 rounds and 4 regs

Posted On: Sun, 2007-12-30 06:22 by sitapati

Earlier this year I visited New Panihati dham in Atlanta, Georgia, USA for the Sunday Feast. This devotee, H.G. Balabhadra Prabhu ACBSP, was giving the Sunday Feast lecture. In this 2 minute excerpt you get a sense of his personal charisma, and he gives his realization about some of the fundamentals of Krishna Consciousness.

Balabhadra Prabhu was clearly dear to the devotees in that community and generated a cohesive family mood around him. We spoke afterwards and he expressed interest in the Loft style of Krishna conscious outreach, and shared his desire to reach out to the people of Atlanta through his initiative Vedic Outreach of Metropolitan Atlanta.

Diwali Address

Posted On: Sun, 2007-11-11 04:31 by sitapati

Sita-pati's Diwali address - kind of like the Queen's Christmas address, only completely different. It's a long-overdue 19 minute podcast about Damodara-lila with the message: "Purchase Anxiety for Krishna at any price."
