Krishna's Birthday Brisbane
Submitted by sitapati on Mon, 2009-08-24 17:01Yesterday was the culmination of months of preparation by a team of devotees lead by Taraka and Varsana Radhe - Krishna's Birthday 09.
The weather was perfect and the festival flowed like a well-oiled machine. The Byron Yoga tent was filled all day with people doing the free yoga classes. The workshop tent, where I was, was well attended for all of the various presentations that took place. It was an excellent first event.
Here are few shots of the festival:

You can check out more photos on Krishnapada's facebook page, if you're on facebook.
You can also watch a recording of the live webcast I did wandering through the festival here. I'd embed it, except it will autoplay when aggregated to Planet ISKCON, which is annoying.
Highlights of the day for me? Playing mrdanga with Carmella at the end of her workshop. Participating in a well-organised festival. Seeing many guests from Atma and the Sunday feast enthusiastically participating.
Here's a video of the final kirtan. The program ran half an hour late at the end, which shows a pretty good estimation, considering that the program had no slack time in it for realignment during the day.
Check out that sax playing!

Krishna's Birthday in Brisbane
Submitted by sitapati on Sun, 2009-08-23 05:13Today I'm going to be at Krishna's Birthday festival in Roma St Parklands

I can't make any promises, but I am going to try broadcasting from the event via 3G broadband, with a feed from my new mixing desk, as a technology test for the upcoming Gaura Vani tour.
Check in from around 12 pm AEST.

Another Kirtan from Sydney
Submitted by sitapati on Sat, 2009-08-22 08:10This one was from the Kirtan Party on Saturday night. Receiving that garland from the Deities was one of the highlights of the weekend for me.

Maha Kirtan in Brisbane: September 13th
Submitted by sitapati on Tue, 2009-08-18 11:01Sunday 13th September will see the next Maha Kirtan at the Brisbane ISKCON temple.
Special guests will be brothers Bachhu and Bikram Srestha, who are flying up from Sydney for the weekend.
Here's a video of the last Maha Kirtan, in July:
See if you can spot the 1300W sound system in there - it's pretty transparent.
