Maha Kirtan 1
Maha Kirtan in Brisbane
Submitted by sitapati on Sun, 2009-07-12 22:01Last night I attended the Maha Kirtan at the local ISKCON temple, which went from 3.30pm- 8.30pm (plus setup and break down time). It was organised by Yastele and was a resounding success. Looking through the photos on Krishnapada's facebook page and Janakaraj's facebook page you can see smiling face after smiling face.
It just goes to show that one determined and inspired person can make a difference, without having to wait for a perfect organisation to manifest. Change starts with each of us.

Radha Kanta was a huge help in getting the sound gear ready in time, and kicked the kirtan off.

Janna's happy to be at another kirtan.

Sridhar blowing up a storm.

Prem Vilas rocks the mike.

Shyam, Prahlad, and Visnu playing outside.

Sukesvari and Ananda, Prem Vilas' wife.

Another happy punter.

Sakhi Rai swims in the ecstasy of Maha Kirtan Rasa.

This is the result of five hours of kirtan. Ram Kumar blisses out.

Maybe Nrsimhacandra had a little too much kirtan... :-)

Acyuta-priya and Janna lead the final kirtan of the day, with five mrdanga players.

Girl Power!

Maha Mantra doin' his thang.

Mother Anuradha.

Mother Taraka. Did I mention that people were in ecstasy?

Ananta Vrndavan pulls one of his smooth moves for the ISKCON paparazzi.

Vraja Dhama rocks the bottom end during the Gaura Arati kirtan.

I put the mixing gear in the storage cupboard. Radha Kanta helped me to take the door off. This way it was completely out of the temple space, and stacked on a desk I found in the brahmacari ashram.

Did I mention that people were happy? Paula and Jolie.

Raktak!

Maha Kirtan and Pizza - does it get any better than this?

"The Proud Father" - Krishnapada and family (sans little Shyam who doesn't fit into the shot with all these tall people)

The man of the hour - Yastele!
Go forth and do a Maha Kirtan festival at your local temple. If not you, then who? If not now, then when? One determined and inspired person can make a difference.
